Both Elantra Hybrid trim models feature the same hybrid powertrain, a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine paired with a battery-powered motor. Together, engine and motor create a total output of 139 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque.
When you put the fast-acting six-speed EcoShift dual-clutch automatic transmission to work, you’ll appreciate its responsive performance. And this new Elantra Hybrid also feels smooth over bumps and secure around corners.
This 2021 Elantra Hybrid also has a few efficiency-boosting tricks up its sleeve. The regenerative braking system recycles excess braking energy, recharging the battery as you drive. When you’re cruising at lower speeds, the Elantra Hybrid utilizes more electric power to help you conserve gasoline.
Each Hyundai Elantra trim model offers its own EPA ratings. The base Blue model is the most efficient option, earning 54 mpg combined (53 city/56 highway mpg). The upscale Limited model follows close behind, with 50 mpg combined (49/52 mpg).
