Hyundai MPG Problems

Due to errors in the procedural operations at Hyundai's testing operations in Korea, incorrect fuel economy ratings were released for 900,00 Hyundai vehicles sold between 2010 and 2012, through October 31, 2012. This incorrect rating has affected all Hyundai models manufactured during this period excluding the Sonata, Genesis Coupe, and Equus. According to Hyundai, these MPG ratings were overstated by an average of 3%. To rectify this error, Hyundai has apologized for these miscalculations, and is offering a fuel cost reimbursement program for all current and previous owners of Hyundai vehicles during the affected time period.

As part of Hyundai's fuel reimbursement program, all current and previous owners of qualifying vehicles are entitled to be reimbursed money for all additional fuel costs accrued while using the vehicle. This reimbursement will be distributed through a personalized debit card for each owner that can be reloaded for as long as the customer owns the car. As a show of good will, Hyundai will also add 15% to the amount to be dispersed to each customer. The amount of money to be reimbursed is based on the difference between the erroneous fuel economy rating and the true rating, with the fuel price in the local area of ownership and actual miles driven factored in to determine the true value of the reimbursement.

Gregory Hyundai in Highland Park is an official debit card dealer, and is ready to help qualifying Hyundai customers receive their fuel reimbursement. Stop by Gregory Hyundai and one of our helpful staff will be able to assist you with the entire reimbursement process. Everyone at Gregory Hyundai understands that errors like this can greatly affect our customer’s happiness, and we are committed and determined to make good with each and every Hyundai customer that is entitled to their fuel reimbursement

All current and previous Hyundai owners are eligible to receive the debit card starting November 2, 2012, and have until November 2, 2013 to make their first claim. Owners are able to make an additional claim during this calendar year, while previous owners are entitled to one claim within this calendar year.

Hyundai is deeply sorry for causing any of their loyal customers to be misled by the erroneous fuel economy ratings published for the 2011 through 2013 models, and is committed to preventing any misleading information from being released in the future. If you think you qualify for Hyundai's fuel reimbursement program, make sure to stop by Gregory Hyundai in Highland Park. As a qualified debit card dealer, Gregory Hyundai can help any qualifying customer receive their personalized debit card complete with fuel reimbursement, and help get Hyundai's loyal customers back on the road.
